During the class you will learn and develop skills in contemporary dance technique with special emphasis on improvisation. You will also focus on developing your individual movement abilities and deepen your body awareness and group cooperation. The group is working on dance performances in which the entire Dance Theater Group has a part to play.

Dance Theater Group – began its activities at the Provincial Center for Cultural Animation in December 2005 – initially as a workshop form of contemporary dance classes for adults: students and working people. For several years it operated outside the institution – again it returns to WOAK. During the period of its activity, several performances and spectacles were created, presented at festivals in the country, created mainly based on contemporary dance and improvisation techniques. The Group’s instructor and choreographer is Marta Zawadzka.

For whom.
The group’s classes are open to adults interested in developing within the framework of broadly understood work with the body: learning contemporary dance techniques, open to improvisation and cooperation in a group, ready for new challenges.

Instructors:
Marta Zawadzka – dancer, choreographer, educator and dance theorist. She has worked with many choreographers and dancers and has participated in many dance and educational projects. She has performed at many festivals at home and abroad. She conducts workshops on contemporary dance techniques, improvisation, body awareness. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Polish Choreological Forum.

beginner group – 120 PLN/month
advanced group – 200 PLN/month

Those participating in the previous 2023/2024 class season who are account users do not need to create an account again.
For those without email, it is possible to create an account and purchase a ticket at the box office on the 5th floor.
It is possible to purchase a ticket at the box office one hour before the first meeting of the month.

Brief instructions on how to sign up:

1. create an account. You can do this in two ways:

(a) by clicking the “register” button in the upper right corner. You will then receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. Once you’ve done that, click “log in” in the upper right corner and enter the login (your email) and password you set.
b) logging in via Facebook or Google account – click “sign in” in the upper right corner, and then select the option for quick login by clicking on the Facebook or Google icon

2. after logging in, create a profile of the person attending the class. Click on “Your account” in the upper right corner. Then select the “workshops” tab and click the orange “add participant” button. Fill in the name, surname and year of birth of the person who attends the class (enter your data or your child’s, if he or she is the one attending the workshop).

3. From the top menu, select the option “WORKSHOPS”. – you will see a list of all permanent classes. Select the classes you want to sign up for. Going to the sub-page you will see their description, date, instructor and schedule of all classes this season.

4. If the class you are signing up for has a group division, click on the box under “Details and groups” and select the group you are interested in (if the class has one group, skip this step).

5. click on the orange “REGISTER” button, and then click on the “select variant” button. Select the ticket type (some classes, but not all, have different ticket variants) and click “SAVE”.

6. Click on the “proceed to payment” button. You will hit the shopping cart, where you will see the tickets you have selected. If you don’t want to buy anything else, click “NEXT.” You will be asked to enter your payment details – first name, last name, phone number and payment type. The site will then redirect you to the payment page.

For the new 2024/2025 season, participants of previous seasons do not need to create an account from scratch. Instead, they must re-subscribe to the site of their choice using the “Sign Up or Login for Classes” button. Then by clicking on the red “Enroll” button and following the same steps as described above (points 3-6).
