We hosted the winners of the Marshal’s Awards

On November 20, we hosted representatives of cultural institutions and local government organizations operating in the field of cultural animation from the entire region at WOAK. The awards on the occasion of the Cultural Activist Day were presented by the Marshal of the Voivodeship Piotr Całbecki, the Chairwoman of the Voivodeship Assembly Elżbieta Piniewska and the Director of the Department of Culture and National Heritage Jerzy Janczarski.

Our institution was represented among the winners by: Arleta Prochera – WOAK accountant and Paweł Jankowski – artistic director of the Copernicus Men’s Choir. In addition to our friends, the awards of the Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship for special achievements in the field of creating and disseminating culture were awarded to: Ewa Katulska and Katarzyna Skrobała from the Gallery and Center for Children’s Artistic Creativity in Toruń, Kinga Łęgowska from the Chopin Center in Szafarnia, Paweł Szymański from the Lubostroń Palace, Daria Wojnicka and Ilona Osińska from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Cultural Center in Bydgoszcz, Paweł Karwowski from the “Wozownia” Art Gallery in Toruń, Piotr Waśniewski and Dorota Sobolewska from the Center for Contemporary Art “Znaki Czasu” in Toruń, Barbara Bibik from the “Traditio Europae” Foundation, the organizer Liga Ancient and Sławomir Bożko – from the Association of Independent Initiatives “Progres”, which organizes the Progressive Rock Festival. During the ceremony, both Marshal Piotr Całbecki and Chairwoman Elżbieta Piniewska drew attention to the role that culture plays in the region. On the one hand, it influences economic development and innovation, and on the other hand, it creates space for a good and satisfying life.

At the end of the ceremony, a short concert was played by the Toruń jazz band Young Power Orchestra.
