September 17, 5:00 p.m. | We are starting a new series of lectures on the art of photography.

We invite you to a multi-part story about photography, in which photography intertwines with sociology, politics, cultural theory, and media studies. The September lecture, “The Art of Photography,” will be an introduction to a series on photography that has the power to change the world. Come and see for yourself how many social, political, and cultural changes we owe to this medium and the artists who use it.

On Wednesday, September 17, Stanisław Jasiński will talk, among other things, about how to understand Marshall McLuhan’s term “global village” and how to interpret photography in the context of McLuhan’s famous phrase “the medium is the message.” You will see iconic photographs that continue to be turning points in the mass imagination.

Admission is free.
