WOAK in European waters

Beginning next January, WOAK is sailing into wide European waters. We will be the leader of the “Universal Art Design” project, which we will implement in partnership with Teatro Stabile del Veneto – Teatro Nazionale from Venice and Kulturanova from Novi Sad, Serbia. This is our next European success. The project is subsidized by the EU with 200,000 euros under the Creative Europe program.

The aim of the project is to support budding performing artists, including artists with disabilities and from marginalized groups, in creating art that is sensitive and universal in its reception regardless of different needs, explains the project’s author, Katarzyna Pągowska, WOAK’s deputy director for content.

Young artists and young women artists from all three countries will be invited to participate in the “Universal Art Design” project. A series of skill-strengthening workshops will be held in Torun, Venice and Serbian Novi Sad, and we will also organize artistic residencies culminating in shows and a festival in Italy.
