Let’s talk about participation | Community Cultural Center

How to invite and encourage residents to co-determine the directions of local government cultural institutions? How to support grassroots activities of residents, integrate the community and include vulnerable groups? Among other things, we will talk about this during the debate, which we are co-organizing with the Social Culture House Collective and the Culture House in Strzelno.

We will meet in Strzelno on November 22 at 11:00 a.m. The promoter of the idea of a Social House of Culture is the Wolskie Cultural Center. This is an idea for a completely new understanding of the role of local government cultural institutions. Under the slogan Social House of Culture there are seven values: diversity, creativity, co-creation, inclusiveness, sensitivity to culture, participation and cooperation. These values enrich community centers with a new type of activity. In addition to classic educational activities and cultural events, a third path is emerging – supporting grassroots activities of residents, integrating communities or including sensitive groups.

The debate we are organizing together with the Cultural Center in Strzelno will focus on one of the seven values – participation, understood as including residents in the decision-making processes determining the directions of local government cultural institutions.

Apply today. The number of places is limited. Recruitment lasts until November 15 or until the limit of places is exhausted.
