Kolaż z sześciu różnych kadrów filmowych. W jednym animowane postacie stoją obok siebie na tle miasta. W innym starszy mężczyzna z długą brodą patrzy spokojnie w bok. W kolejnym kobieta stoi nad wodą i patrzy z niepokojem. Obok dziewczynka podaje kartkę chłopakowi na ulicy. Niżej scena w kuchni, gdzie dwie osoby odwracają się w stronę aparatu. W ostatnim kadrze osoba w pomarańczowym świetle trzyma w górze racę. Całość różnorodna i pełna emocji.

The last day of screenings at WOAK is the culmination of the festival’s journey through the world of short films. It is a moment when the stories told by independent filmmakers come together in a colorful mosaic of emotions, reflections, and visual poetry.

The evening is filled with feature films and animations that show how diverse contemporary Polish independent cinema is. It is also an opportunity to see how short forms can build tension, move or entertain in a few minutes, leaving a lasting impression on the viewer.

During the day, we will watch four selected films, each followed by a discussion with the filmmakers, moderated by Anna Bielak. The meeting will allow us to take a look at the process of making films and ask questions about the creative decisions behind each story.

“She Cat Him” directed by Marta Chyła-Janicka, animation, duration: 21 minutes and 44 seconds

A comedy-drama depicting three stories from the life of a frustrated intellectual couple, Anna and David. The film is intended for adults only due to its sharp humor, which highlights the characters’ emotional problems and helplessness.

The film contains scenes of violence, sex, nudity, and alcohol consumption. There is profanity and themes of marital crisis, family relationships, and emotional problems.

“The Title Will Come to Me in a Dream” directed by Klaudia Fortuniak, feature film, duration: 19 minutes

The dried-up city of Łódź is left without rivers, and Małgorzata sets off on a journey to find them. She falls asleep on the trip because she was deceived in her dream about the time. She finds the rivers, but not her dream.

“Dzieciak” (The Kid) directed by Maksymilian Nowicki, feature film, running time 22 minutes and 25 seconds

Immature and recently divorced, Wiktor takes on a “challenge” at work – he walks around the office naked. He spends the money he earns on fulfilling his dream: taking his 9-year-old daughter on a dream trip. However, his 17-year-old son, Mikołaj, stands in his way.

The film contains scenes of nudity.

“Songs of Skiron” directed by Antoni Możdżeń, feature film, duration: 11 minutes and 41 seconds

A man at the end of his life traverses a mountainous landscape. Upon reaching the summit, he makes a symbolic, spiritual descent into himself. While navigating, he analyzes contour lines, records and synthesizes sounds triggered by the wind. He is haunted by disturbances hidden in the topography, which arouse fear and herald failure.

The film features dynamic editing, loud sounds, and flashing lights.
