September 9, “Armor” | Zajkowska/Murawski | Join us for the premiere of the performance

We invite you to another premiere prepared during the residency cycle as part of the Universal Art Design project. Take a look at Zajkowska/Murawski’s “armor” and see how the artists have creatively used the idea of universal design in art.

Let’s meet at the Znaki Czasu Contemporary Art Center on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. to participate in an artistic event that combines elements of animated theater, spontaneous writing, and physical theater.

The creative process is ongoing, but as the creators—Weronika Zajkowska and Michał Murawski—explain, the “armor” is based on their personal memories, and the structure of the performance is built around events that have influenced the perception of their bodies. The inspiration comes from two questions: What armor do we put on to protect ourselves from the world? What do our bodies say about the defense strategies we have chosen, consciously or unconsciously?

The performance “zbroja” is another artistic event within the Universal Art Design project, which we are implementing in cooperation with the Teatro Stabile del Veneto national theater and the Kulturanova association from Serbia. The Universal Art Design project is co-financed by the European Union under the Creative Europe program and is co-financed by the Local Government of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province.
