Thursdays at the Provincial Center for Cultural Animation in Toruń once a month belong to people from the arts and creative industries in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region! Thursday Breakfasts are discussions where all voices are given equal attention, and the core is to meet and share experiences. Another topic of discussion will be working with LGBT+ people in cultural institutions. Not sure how to behave when a non-binary or trans person shows up at your workshops? Wondering if it is tactless to ask for pronouns or a pre-transition name? Looking for hints and tips related to rainbow savoir vivre? If you want to feel more confident, learn the rules of good cooperation with rainbow people, learn a little more about inclusive language and neutratives – come join us! The meeting will be joined by Kajetan Krzystoszek – a self-advocacy person, on a daily basis associated with the Equator – Toronto Rainbow Center. Kajetan writes about himself, “I am an activist and a transgender person, although I always say that first and foremost I am a man. I am also a consumer of culture, and culture is increasingly hooked on LGBTQ+ issues. It’s worth asking myself: is how this environment is portrayed in TV series, movies, theater, and how cultural institutions talk about it close to the real picture?” Meet Kajetan, share your experience and exchange thoughts with those working in the creative sector! During a joint conversation over breakfast, we discuss useful topics related to development, acquiring new skills and expanding competencies. The meetings feature industry experts and we end with an open discussion and networking. This is an opportunity to meet people facing challenges similar to yours, and a space to find solutions together.
