Solar System – vol. 2: Terra – a series of audiovisual projects | premiere

The Copernican Year is slowly coming to an end. We invite you to the last event related to the celebration of the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, as well as the 480th anniversary of the publication of the work De revolutionibus orbium coelestium. Join us on Saturday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m., watch two audiovisual projections from the Solar System series: Vol. 1 Heliocentric and Vol. 2 Terra (premiere!).

The Solar System audiovisual project has been in development for a year. It combines science and art – both in the space of sound and image. The musical layer consists of the premiere electroacoustic compositions of the Voices of the Cosmos group (Rafał Iwański, Wojciech Zięba, astronomical consultation – Sebastian Soberski). These are songs using the sounds of astronomical objects from space. The visual layer of the Solar System project is an artistic and astronomical video by Anna Ruta Pilewicz supplemented by scenes with musicians by Mateusz Matyasik.

The project of implementing a series of “Copernican” audiovisual productions is supported by the Municipality of Toruń. The Kosmos Artistic Foundation is responsible for the production.

The Kosmos Artistic Foundation is created by a team of qualified artists and cultural animators who have been undertaking artistic and cultural activities from the very beginning of the foundation’s existence, and even earlier individually. The president of the management board of the Kosmos Artistic Foundation – Anna Ruta Pilewicz – is a visual artist and art teacher, Rafał Iwański – vice-president of the management board of the Kosmos Artistic Foundation – is a sound artist and creator of electroacoustic music, while cultural expert Mateusz Matyasik – member of the management board of the Kosmos Artistic Foundation – is involved in the creation of films and materials audiovisual and photography.
