In June, together with Dominik Krzeszewski – as part of the series “After the credits” – we will explore two film worlds:

  1. “Alastor” – in a utopian reality, with the help of an accurate algorithm, crime is eliminated. One day Edmund, who lives with his family, receives information about the possibility of becoming a criminal in the future, which obliges him to commit suicide to prevent such a turn of events and preserve the prevailing order. Because of the man’s disagreement with such a state of affairs, his immediate environment and family turn away from him and push him to the margins of society.
  2. “Aberration” – in a dystopian reality, two men – Old and Young – reside in a dilapidated frontier outpost, where they serve as guards and maintenance workers. They perform routine functions – cleaning up the destruction, growing plants and patrolling the area. One day a young girl enters the outpost, who is recognized by them as a spy and imprisoned. The young man, against the order of his superior, begins to make deeper contact with the stranger.

Dominik Krzeszewski – a cinematographer and director from the Kcynia area, a student of filmmaking and the creator of several short and medium-length films, both fiction and documentary. He frequently collaborates with the Kcynia Historical Society on historical productions – including: My Last Letter (2020) and Hunger for Freedeom (2023). He is passionate about science fiction themes and issues of lighting and camera movement in film. He began working with film as early as junior high school, and continued while studying photography at a technical school.

After the screening, or more precisely after the closing credits, we will talk together with the filmmaker, who will talk about his artistic vision, creative process, inspirations and challenges he faced. It will also be a great opportunity to ask questions, exchange views and deepen your knowledge of the art of filmmaking.

If you are a filmmaker and would like to present your work, we encourage you to contact Grzegorz Kazmierski by e-mail: grzegorz.kazmierski@woak.pl or by phone: 609 662 968. We are looking for projects that bring a new perspective to the art of filmmaking and represent the wealth of talent in our region. We will show selected films during the following “After the credits” meetings. You will meet a discerning but friendly audience.
