Field recording

When.

March 2, 2024.
10:30 am – 2:30 pm

The workshop will be mainly a study of place, surroundings, that is, the broad territory of field recordings. An attempt to compare the urban sonosphere with the so-called green areas. The idea of field recording is related to a broad understanding of sound or noise problems in the context of civilization.

The basic technique that will be used to conduct the workshop will be a sound walk. Its purpose is to sensitize participants to sound, to encourage them to make critical judgments about the sounds they hear and their contribution to the balance of the sound environment, and to educate them about their own sounds (voice, footsteps, etc.). We will take part in a sound walk and create an audio archive of the area. We will record with portable recorders the sounds of coexisting nature and civilization.
