We add our good wishes to the Mazovian Institute of Culture

The Mazovian Institute of Culture is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The “birthday” was also attended by Łukasz Wudarski and Katarzyna Pągowska – our director duo. The entire WOAK team joins us in wishing the Mazovian Institute of Culture well.

As part of the celebration, a community conference was held under the theme Why do we need regional cultural institutions? It was attended by: Paweł Cukrowski, director of the Department of Culture of the Marshal’s Office of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, Robert Piaskowski director of the National Cultural Center, Joanna Orlik, director of the Malopolska Institute of Culture in Cracow, Łukasz Wudarski, director of WOAK, and Tomasz Kasprzak, an independent cultural researcher. The discussion was moderated by Magdalena Ulejczyk, director of the Mazovian Institute of Culture. She admitted that the Malopolska Institute of Culture was a kind of benchmark for her. In turn, Joanna Orlik pointed out the need for provincial culture centers to be more rooted in their regions. Lukasz Wudarski, director of WOAK, was also among the panelists. Referring to the almost two-year experience of our director duo: Katarzyna Pągowska and his own, he admitted that at the moment he considers the support of cultural personnel a priority task for our institution. And referring to the statement of NCK director Robert Piaskowski, he admitted that he also sees the function of WOAK as a buffer between local governments, i.e. organizers and the institutions themselves.
