Leonardo da Vinci – The Last Supper | DKJo! | discussion

During the February meeting of DKJo! we will once again explore together the mysteries of one of the most famous works in the history of art. This time the protagonist of our meeting will be Leonardo da Vinci and the fresco of the Last Supper, located in Milan in the church of Santa Maria della Grazie, which is full of mysteries.

What will you experience during the DKJo meeting!

We’ll talk about a work that has stirred up emotions and new interpretations for centuries, and thanks to Dan Brown’s book “The Leonardo da Vinci Code” the fresco has become one of the most popular works of art.

We will learn stories, trivia and anecdotes related to the painting.

Together we will consider whether the figure sitting next to Christ is definitely St. John, or perhaps – as conspiracy theorists want – Mary Magdalene?

We will try to figure out whether the artist really hid a secret message in the painting, and why the painting is disappearing from the wall of the refectory of the church of Santa Maria della Grazie.

As always, you will be able to share your interpretations of this still ambiguous painting. The meeting, in which everyone has the right to speak and their own interpretation of the work under discussion, will be led by art historian Lukasz Wudarski.
