November 13, 6:00 p.m. – Hieronymus Bosch’s “The Ship of Fools” | DKJo! Did you know that at the beginning of the 16th century, the question “Where are we headed as a society?” was just as relevant as it is today? Evidence of this can be found in Hieronymus Bosch’s famous painting “The Ship of Fools,” which depicts the corruption and human vices prevalent during the artist’s time. The Ship of Fools is most often interpreted as a symbol-filled satire on contemporary society. However, there are many other interpretations of the painting, and everyone can read it differently. Let’s discuss this unique work by Hieronymus Bosch together. We invite you to another meeting in the DKJo! series on Thursday, November 13, at 6:00 p.m. First, Łukasz Wudarski, art historian and director of WOAK, will introduce you to the history and context of the work’s creation. In the discussion itself, every voice is equally important and there are no wrong interpretations. You can argue, persuade, and debate.
