These are open discussions where we will talk about stereotypes and verify them with reality. Each meeting will be dedicated to one country/city. This time we invite you to talk about Zimbabwe, and our guest (who also will lead music workshop!) will be Vesta Chawira, who describes herself: “Young girl from Zimbabwe, I am 24 years old ,very vibrant outgoing and shy sometimes.I love music and singing and learning more about peoples cultures and how it brings them together.” As a part of “The world is not enough” meeting we would like to invite you to take part in traditional Zimbabwe music workshop, leaded by our guest – Vesta Chawira. Exploring Zimbabwe through the goodness of music, learning about different ceremonies including Bira which is an all night ritural or celebration by the Shona people in which they call for ancestral guidance. These ceremonies include singing, dancing,handclapping and playing different instruments. During our workshop we will try to sing some our national songs. Workshop will start at 5 PM. At 6 PM we invite you for meeting with Vesta Chawira. When: 21st of February, 5 PM – workshop of traditional Zimbabwe music 6 PM – meeting with Vesta Chawira Where: WOAK, 75-77 Kościuszki Street, 4th floor We will talk about the stereotypes we have in our minds when we think of Zimbabwe as well as how Vesta Chawira imagined life in Poland before his arrival.
