Let’s meet at the Bydgoskie Przedmieście Community Center, where we will combine breakfast with a study visit and a discussion about real, local change. During the meeting, we will look at how a cultural institution can play a leading role in local change, initiate social processes, empower residents, and build lasting relationships. We will talk about the practices, challenges, and potential of community centers seen not as buildings, but as relational ecosystems rooted in the everyday life of local communities. The Bydgoskie Przedmieście Community Center is a lively, dynamic place open to dialogue. It functions as an unusual stimulator of neighborhood activity: both a transmitter and an attentive receiver of local needs. It is a space for testing ideas, building relationships, and initiating grassroots processes of change, where culture acts not as an “offer for” but as a “process created with.” We have chosen a unique venue for our Thursday Breakfast, during which we want to talk about leading local change. The team of the Bydgoskie Przedmieście Community Center and the Factory UTU Foundation, winners of the Golden Mills Award – Kujawsko-Pomorskie Cultural Animation Awards in the Team category, consists of: Katarzyna Jankowska, Katarzyna Bukowska, Magdalena Kosek, Marta Rogalska, Sylwia Drozdowska, Maciej Karmiński, Beata Nowicka, Ewelina Grabowska, and Jena. In its justification, the Award Committee emphasized: “courage in creating new forms of participation in culture, supporting social initiatives, and being the definition of contemporary cultural animation.” We invite people working in culture in our province to join us at the table for conversation and inspiration from a place that is truly working for change, starting with daily meetings and ending with long-term community processes. The event is part of the provincial program for strengthening people of culture, “Culture of Change.” Do you have any questions?Write to: agata.andrasiak@woak.plor call: 502 243 367Coordinator of the “Culture of Change” Program.
