Additional information

Duration of the meeting: approximately 2 hours

See for yourselves that caring for ourselves and others can become a practical strategy for action in the cultural sector. Instead of competing, let’s build support networks. That is why, during the May Thursday Breakfast, we will explore the idea of self-help in culture. We will discuss grassroots practices of mutual empowerment that allow us to act despite limitations, fatigue with the system, and uncertainty about the future.

The meeting is part of the Culture of Change program, through which we are jointly seeking practices that empower people working in culture in our province, as well as ways to build more supportive, solidarity-based work environments.

Our experts will be Paulina Andruczyk and Anna Maria Sadowska—cultural facilitators and managers associated with the Old Town Cultural Center, where they work daily to empower Warsaw’s cultural workforce and develop collaborative practices within the community.

We will consider how to:

  • create safe and empowering work environments within the organization,
  • build on what we already have—relationships, skills, and local resources,
  • and why self-help is not a sign of weakness, but a practice of resilience.

This event is for everyone who believes that culture can be a space for care, collaboration, and real social change—starting with small gestures and everyday decisions.
