Intensive rehearsals are underway for the Young Theater’s new production. The group is directed by Joanna Rozkosz and Wojciech Jaworski.

The premiere is on Saturday, July 18, at 6:00 p.m.; the performance will also be presented on Sunday, July 19, at 5:00 p.m.

The production is being developed during the Young Theater’s two-week summer workshop and the “Compose Music for a Play” workshop. During the first week of intensive creative work, various conceptual ideas were analyzed and tested. The central idea and main elements of the plot were established.

In the second week, additional scenes and dramatic solutions will be developed. That is also when we will learn the title of the play, which for now remains a secret among the artists.

The Young Theater’s summer workshops and the “Compose Music for a Play” workshops are held as part of the “Young Theater – Continued” project, which is funded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage through the Culture Promotion Fund—a state-administered special-purpose fund—and from the budget of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province Local Government.

The idea behind the “Young Theater – Continued” project is to create a safe, intergenerational space that effectively brings together young people and adults around a shared passion. As a result, a close-knit community with a strong sense of identity has emerged, serving as an artistic home for participants and a place for open exchange of ideas and deep relationships.

The driving force behind the Young Theater is the belief that culture is an indispensable element of every person’s personal and social growth. The project aimed to promote equal opportunities in access to the arts by actively involving people with visual impairments and residents of smaller towns. Project participants developed their acting skills and creative sensibilities during regular workshops and other activities conducted in the spirit of participatory theater pedagogy. A key element of the process was strengthening participants’ sense of agency and self-worth through collaborative work on original performances, which served as their independent artistic expression.

In turn, experienced group members and alumni gained a real opportunity for professional development, taking their first independent steps as cultural facilitators and instructors. All these activities were complemented by effective networking within the region’s amateur theater movement, achieved through traveling workshops, open social gatherings, and a unique, original Young Theater Festival.

This project was co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage using funds from the Culture Promotion Fund—a state-administered special-purpose fund—as part of the “Young Theater—The Sequel” project.

This project was co-financed from the budget
