Alicja Werner uses the poster to comment on social phenomena in her project I SPEAK/YEAR. The artist shows things that are often ignored or normalized, even though, in her opinion, they shouldn’t be. She is committed to stimulating you to think about the challenges and inequalities around us. In her own words: “I believe that an image has the power to evoke emotions, provoke discussion and confront the viewer with uncomfortable truths.”

The project was created as part of her master’s thesis at the Department of Graphic Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń.

Check out the poster can say more than words.

Alicja Werner – 5th year student at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. On a daily basis she deals with graphic design and especially with creating posters. She does not limit herself in her work when it comes to subject matter or the means used. She tries to always keep an open mind to the changes taking place in the world.

Creative Ferment is a project thanks to which young artists from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship receive support in the organization of their events – concerts, performances, exhibitions, literary evenings.

Creative Ferment was created to open cultural institutions to debuting male and female artists from the region and to give them a chance to show their art to a wider audience. It is an opportunity to get to know each other and inspire each other in the province’s artistic community.
