„The world is not enough” is a series of meetings where, in the form of an open discussion, we will talk together with migrants and migrant women, living permanently or temporarily in our region. During each discussion we will focus on one country or city, paying attention to stereotypes, which we will verify and compare with reality.

In May we will meet Robel Kabede – an artist and IT engineer who came to Poland almost 5 years ago. He graduated from WSB Meirto in Torun in 2023. He currently lives in Warsaw, where he is looking for new experiences.

Robel Kebede says of himself: „Ever since I left Ethiopia, I have felt a longing that I can’t get rid of. The last few years have taught me that a traveler can discover the whole world, but never find home, because home is where your loved ones are. It has made me look at life from a different perspective. Living miles overseas – where I couldn’t say a word in a foreign language and trying to live with people who aren’t really like me – changed my experience for the better. Although it was hard and I had many ups and downs, I realized that we all have something in common, and that is humanity. Separation from family, friends and even my former self taught me how strong I am, how much I can endure and how beautiful life is, even with its flaws.”

The event’s partners are the Emic Foundation, WSB Merito University and the Copernican Center for Integration at UMK.

The meeting will be held in English and Polish.
