Thinking about the accessibility of cultural activities is changing cultural centers, theaters, libraries, museums, cinemas. We are increasingly vocal about the need for equal access to culture for all people regardless of different needs. And how does the language layer affect accessibility issues? Does the terminology used to refer to people with different needs affect the way they are treated?

During our May meeting, together with Artur Bylinski – a social activist, breaking down language barriers related to blindness on his Becoming Blind Tutorials channel – we will talk about the linguistic stereotypes arising from the very definition of disability, and how they impinge on the activities of cultural institutions. The meeting will also become an ideal opportunity for joint discussion, exchange of experiences and reflections, because accessibility is, after all, cooperation!

We invite to the meeting people who are close to the accessibility of culture:

  • coordinators and coordinators of accessibility,
  • experts and experts of accessibility,
  • self-advocates and self-advocates.

Artur Bylinski – social activist, breaking language barriers related to blindness on his channel Becoming Blind Tutorials.
