Networking Event for People Working to Promote Accessible Culture

What is the state of accessibility in our institutions? What challenges do we face on a daily basis? What solutions have we already developed, and which areas need more of our attention and care?

Let’s meet and exchange opinions and ideas. We want to hear different perspectives and create a space where we can learn from one another. We invite people who work on accessibility for individuals with diverse needs in cultural institutions: accessibility coordinators and those involved in specific initiatives. Of course, we also warmly welcome anyone who wants to improve accessibility at their cultural institution and is looking for inspiration, knowledge, and support.

This meeting will mark the beginning of a series that we hope to develop together with the participants. We’re committed to holding regular meetings where we can share knowledge, discuss challenges, learn about proven solutions, and seek inspiration for further action.

We want to create an opportunity to get to know one another, talk, and exchange experiences. We’re eager to hear how we understand accessibility, what’s important to us, and what kind of support we need in our daily work. Together, we’ll also consider what topics to discuss at future meetings.

Before the meeting, we invite you to attend the performance “Errors and Failures.” Agnieszka Dubilewicz’s experimental choreography was created during a residency at WOAK in 2025 as part of the Universal Art Design project. The performance addresses the issue of accessibility through artistic expression. A butoh dancer and a dancer with a disability demonstrate that traditionally understood boundaries in the world of art do not exist.
Admission to the performance is free.

We invited two guests to join us for the conversation:

Sonia Rosa—a Polish Sign Language (PJM) interpreter and a CODA who combines her personal experience of navigating the intersection between the Deaf and hearing worlds with her work to promote cultural accessibility. She is particularly passionate about theater and initiatives in which PJM serves not only as a tool for communication but also as a means of artistic expression.

Jakub Studziński—a PJM interpreter, accessibility coordinator, and organizer of the Sensitive Culture Festival. For several years, he has been working to promote accessible culture, collaborating with institutions and supporting them in creating events that are open to the diverse needs of their audiences. He works at the Małopolska Institute of Culture in Kraków.

We want to get to know you, your experiences, and your needs.
We’ll use that as a starting point for planning our next meetings.
