After the summer break, we’re back with the Development Meetings for Cultural Professionals from the Region, part of the provincial “Culture of Change” program, which supports the professional development of those working in the cultural sector and fosters collaboration within the region.

The topic of the two-day September meeting was chosen based on the needs expressed by the participants themselves. One of the most frequently cited challenges was securing grants and preparing effective funding applications.

Over the course of two days, participants will develop their own ideas and projects. The meeting will combine lectures and workshops; we will work on examples and projects submitted by the participants, integrating knowledge with practice and the experiences of individuals active in various areas of culture.

The event will be led by Katarzyna Pągowska—a cultural facilitator and theater educator, trainer, and graduate of the School for NGO Trainers. For nearly 15 years, she has been implementing projects that support local communities and cultural professionals. She leads workshops on project development, fundraising, and team management. In 2024, she was a member of the evaluation panel for grant applications under the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage’s “Cultural Education” program. Since 2022, she has served as deputy director for program affairs at the Provincial Center for Cultural Animation in Toruń.

The September date is no coincidence. The next application rounds for many grant programs begin as early as October, so we want participants to be able to immediately apply the knowledge they’ve gained and the materials provided when drafting their own proposals.

We invite everyone working in the cultural sector, regardless of their position or experience. If you develop programs, organize events, work in cultural outreach, promotion, or project coordination, or support the day-to-day operations of a cultural institution, this meeting is for you. The Development Meetings also provide a space to meet people, exchange experiences and best practices, and build relationships between individuals and institutions from across the region. It’s an opportunity for conversations that can lead to partnerships, collaborative efforts, and new projects.

You can join the Development Meetings for Cultural Professionals at any stage. For organizational reasons, we do not provide lodging. If the cost of lodging is a barrier preventing you from participating, please contact us—we’ll work together to find a solution.
