(2021–2027) Culture Within Reach 3.0

The Provincial Center for Cultural Promotion has launched the project “Culture Within Reach 3.0,” co-financed by the European Union under the Regional Program “European Funds for Kujawy and Pomerania” for the years 2021–2027.

This project is another step toward the modern, digital development of the cultural sector and regional heritage. It is being implemented by the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province in cooperation with 66 partners—local government cultural institutions and universities.

The main objective of the project is the comprehensive modernization of the region’s cultural offerings. The initiative aims to implement innovative solutions that will not only increase the accessibility of online resources but also enhance the region’s attractiveness and competitiveness. In practice, this means, among other things, equipping institutions with modern digitization equipment and multimedia technologies—such as video walls, holograms, and augmented reality (AR) tools. At the same time, digital communication channels will be developed, including professional facilities for online streaming and systems to improve user service, such as RFID technology enabling contactless borrowing of collections. The entire project will be based on an extensive and secure ICT infrastructure.

The project was designed with a broad audience in mind. The key group consists of the region’s residents, for whom digitization means easier and more equitable access to culture—regardless of where they live or their social situation. Modern tools, such as mobile apps and interactive guides, will also provide significant support for tourists visiting Kujawy and Pomerania. Researchers and history enthusiasts, in turn, will gain convenient access to online archival resources, while employees of cultural institutions will enhance their digital skills through specialized training.

The project will result in modernized, state-of-the-art digital products, including the Virtual Museum of Kujawy and Pomerania and Guides to Kujawy and Pomerania. As a result, culture will become more accessible, engaging, and better prepared for the challenges of the modern world, supporting the development of a modern information society.
