Selective distortion is an innate mechanism whereby each person perceives and processes information in a specific, predetermined way, based on past beliefs and impressions. The performance of the same title shows how common it is to assign labels. It encourages us to delve into our own behavioral processes. A person is a person. The phenomenon of “labeling” other people is a mirror of ourselves and stems from our beliefs.

Kinga Tecmer – third-year student of Media Arts and Visual Education at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. During the 11th International Student Drawing Exhibition Rysować TERAZ (Draw NOW), she received the Award of the Director of the Provincial Center for Cultural Animation in Toruń for the performance entitled “Leave a Trace,” which she co-authored. During the Festival of Forgotten Cultures. Rebels. Herstories of Courageous Women at WOAK, she presented a co-created performance entitled “Leprosy.” She presented an object entitled “Drawer” during the exhibition In Suspension / drawing – iconic return – image in action at the Arche Uphagen Manor in Gdańsk. She took part in the FLASH Festival in Szczecin, presenting the performance “Waste.” She gave a lecture entitled “Does art have a gender” during the Przeploty Polifonii Perspektyw II conference. She is the chairwoman of the Kontur Artistic and Scientific Circle. She has co-created a number of student exhibitions. Her interests include visual arts in the broad sense, and in particular interdisciplinary activities and performance.

Kornelia Paczoska
A third-year student of Media Arts and Visual Education at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. She received an honorable mention in the 10th edition of the Cassubia Visuales International Competition for artistic posters in the category of design – graphic transformation of Kashubian patterns into a contemporary form. She participated in the exhibition W Zawiesz.eniu / rysunek – zwrot ikoniczny – obraz w działaniu (Suspended / drawing – iconic turn – image in action) at the Arche Dwór Uphagena in Gdańsk, presenting her works Dom (House) and Palimpsest. She received a special jury award in the National Creative Competition “Let’s Make Chopin. A contemporary interpretation of Fryderyk Chopin in the form of an artistic portrait doll.” The award-winning doll “Walizka wspomnień” (Suitcase of Memories) qualified for the post-competition exhibition “Inne spojrzenie” (A Different Perspective). She is a member of the Kontur Artistic and Scientific Circle. She has participated in many student exhibitions, including Konturówka and Pamiątka. In her works, she refers to the themes of place, family, tradition, and folklore. She most often uses fabrics and performs manual work, which she treats as a technique for strengthening bonds with others.

Twórczy Ferment is a project that provides young artists from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Province with support in organizing their events, such as concerts, performances, exhibitions, performances, and literary evenings.

Twórczy Ferment was created to open cultural institutions to debuting artists from the region and to give them a chance to show their art to a wider audience. It is an opportunity to get to know each other and inspire the artistic community in the province.
