What secrets does the life of Hildegard hide? Find out on a winter Saturday evening at WOAK! The performance by the Teatr B group is a comedy and tells the story of Hilda of Samoklęsk in ten scenes. Although the heroine brings to mind the medieval mystic from Bingen, she is a thoroughly contemporary character. By following her story, you can see for yourself whether the lives of the secular and the saints have any common truths to reveal.

The performance is a collage, containing elements of sketches, musicals, and improvisation – hence the estimated length of the play, approximately two hours, may change and surprise you! In creating the play, Teatr Plan B opted for economy of expression. The main role is played by the spoken and sung word and, of course, the actors and actresses themselves.

After the performance, there will be a discussion with the creators of the play, moderated by Katarzyna Pągowska.

The premiere of the play took place on April 27, 2025, at the Dom Muz branch of the Artus Court Cultural Center at 52 Poznańska Street in Toruń.

Teatr Plan B is a theater workshop group operating in Toruń. Its members meet once a week to explore themselves and the world through theater. As they say about themselves: “we are nomads and we don’t have a permanent rehearsal space. We meet in different spaces – and we turn each of them into a theatrical space.” The group is very diverse in terms of age – it provides a space for intergenerational exchange. They are united by their love of improvisation and their passion for creating absurd stage situations. It is a place of meeting, laughter, and emotions that allow them to touch those areas within each person that are ageless. Then the generation gap completely disappears and allows them to treat each other as partners. After several years of “workshopping,” the members of the group decided to gather their experiences and create a performance together, which would be a summary and the icing on the cake of their activities. As they unanimously agree: they want to develop and bake new cakes – so this will not be the icing on the cake of their activities.

The event is part of the “Chodź na deski” (Come on Stage) project.

The project was co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund – a state special-purpose fund.
