We are looking for partner institutions for the project “Female Builders in Kuyavia and Pomerania”

If you would like to see the “Female Builders in Kuyavia and Pomerania” project in your locality, we invite you to cooperate. A cultural center from a locality of up to 15 thousand residents can become a partner in the project – we are looking for 14 such institutions.

About the project:

“If we don’t know the history of women, we don’t know half the history” – this thought is the starting point for the project “Female Builders in Kuyavia and Pomerania”. We want to show how great an impact the women leaders of the region’s small towns had on building local communities.

Visiting partner cultural centers with a performance, workshops and an exhibition, we will show the impact of women’s activities on the development of culture, education, social affairs. We want to inspire local residents and partner institutions to collect and commemorate local “herstories”, i.e. stories about women and showing events from the perspective of women.

What is the partnership in the project?

What does WOAK offer?

  1. We are coming with a performance of “The Builders,” directed by Pawel Paszta, for young people, adults and seniors, on the scheduled date (from May to November 2025). The play is a source of knowledge and inspiration for reflection on the role of women in building communities and the region’s cultural heritage.
  1. Immediately following the performance, we are conducting educational workshops that will engage the audience in discovering and documenting local stories about women.
  1. At the same time, we present the exhibition “Transfer” by Paula Rudź and Piotr Nykowski, which shows the stories of women shaping the communities of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. Through interviews, photographs and memories, the exhibition depicts their courage, determination and everyday heroism.
  1. We prepare a promotional package for the event, which includes posters, flyers and a program, as well as ready proposals for posts, photos, graphics and other materials to be published on the institution’s website and profiles on social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram).

What does the Partner provide?

  1. You provide adequate space in accordance with technical conditions.
  1. You take measures to promote the event, such as putting up posters, creating posts to promote the show on social media platforms, and running marketing campaigns to ensure that it gets the right visibility and attendance.
  1. You are helping us to document the herstory of the women of your locality and provide us with materials for the digital archive.

We meet at the closing meeting at WOAK headquarters
in Torun at 75-77 T. Kosciuszko St.
on December 9, 2025
