Torun Photo Walks – Photo of the Year of Pomerania and Kuyavia | exhibition

Are you curious what frames were included in the awarded and honorable mention photos taken by participants and attendees of the Torun Photo Walks? Which of them stirred the imagination of the competition jury and will be presented at the exhibition? Do you recognize the places immortalized in the photographs?

On December 7, at 5:30 pm, the Provincial Center for Cultural Animation in Toruń will become a meeting place of photographic art and passion for discovering Kuyavia and Pomerania. The opening of the exhibition “Torun Photo Walks – Photo of the Year Pomerania and Kuyavia 2024” is the culmination of the year-long activities of the Torun Photo Walks group, whose members capture the landscapes, daily life and culture of the region.

During the vernissage there will be a ceremony to award the title “Photo of the Year of Pomerania and Kuyavia 2024”. The curators of the exhibition and, at the same time, jurors of the competition are Monika Sieklucka of the Artus Court Cultural Center and Stanislaw Jasinski of the Provincial Cultural Animation Center in Torun, a member of the Union of Polish Artists Photographers.

The main prize went to Piotr Zalewa of Rozgart, and the special Alicja Piotrowska Award for special sensitivity to society and nature went to Joanna Malinowska of Toruń. Jury honorable mentions went to: Monika Ciaiolo from Toruń, Aneta Thiede from Aleksandrów Kujawski and Zbigniew Milewski from Bydgoszcz. In the audience poll, the winner was Paulina Jakubanis from Toruń.

The exhibition will showcase the works of the following authors: Aneta Thiede, Anna Galka, Barbara Karlewska, Darek Kilan, Grzegorz Kazuro, Joanna Malinowska, Joanna Stepaniuk, Katarzyna Irena Politowska, Katarzyna Kiełt, Krzysztof Żebrowski, Maciej Koziński, Maciej Nowak, Magdalena Białecka, Marek Mrozowicz, Mieczyslaw Matyasik, Monika Ciaiolo, Paulina Jakubanis, Philip Gray, Piotr Zalewa, Sebastian Nowosad, Witold Bargiel, Wojciech Balczewski, Zbigniew Milewski, Zbyszek Filipiak, Zuzanna Lewandowska.

Thanks to the support of the Marshal’s Office of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and cooperation with the Provincial Center for Cultural Animation, the vernissage will also present a calendar for 2025 with photographs by TSF authors. Admission to the event is free.
