The Akryle art group has been affiliated with the Provincial Center for Cultural Animation for ten years. The group continues the traditions of the Circle of Non-Professional Artists, which operates at WOAK (and previously at the Toruń Cultural Association). Initially, the Akryle group was a section of the Toruń University of the Third Age, while since 2021 it has been an artistic group of WOAK.

The Akryle are mainly different creative personalities. Each of the artists who make up the group or each of the artists already has their own style, developed during many creative hours. Despite this, they are constantly developing, exchanging experiences, opinions, inspiring each other and, importantly, are not afraid to experiment.

The exhibition “Colors of Nature” presents paintings and several graphics, which were created in recent months. And just as the creative personalities in the Akryle group are different, so are the works in this exhibition. Admittedly, they are united by the title motif, namely the exploration of the colorful world of nature and wildlife. However, the individual approach of the artists makes the exhibition characterized by a fresh outlook and the courage of creative exploration.

The Akryle art group is made up of people with different creative seniority. However, they are always artists with great passion. They take part in plein-air painting events (including those in Bierzgłowo, Górzno and a couple of times in Nieszawa), group exhibitions and competitions. Some of the people also have solo exhibitions. Currently, the Acrylics is made up of ten people: Mirosława Furmaniuk, Barbara Jarzębska, Eugeniusz Królak, Urszula Macak, Jerzy Milewski, Anna Morassi, Bożena Reflińska, Urszula Szymkowiak, Ewa Wocalewska and Jolanta Wojdziak.

The ensemble’s artistic supervisor is a prominent Torun artist Dariusz Przewieźlikowski. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, he works primarily in ceramics, but also in painting and printmaking. He participates in exhibitions around the world. He made a series of ceramic sculptures of small townspeople silhouettes, which are located in the backstreets of Toruń’s Old Town. Since 2012 he has been the President of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers Polish Applied Arts District of Toruń.
