How to Get to Know Your Community and Take Smart Action? On Diagnosis That Drives Change | Thursday Breakfast #23 When 18.06.2026 | 11:00 Where Provincial Center for Cultural Activities Toruń, 75–77 Kościuszki Street | 4th floor | Room 407 Show on map Tickets To register, please fill out the registration form REGISTRATION FORM Additional information Duration of the meeting: approximately 2 hours Assessing local needs and resources doesn’t have to involve complicated surveys, questionnaires, or complex analyses. It can be a simple, natural way of getting to know people, places, and relationships, based on conversation, observation, mindfulness, and asking questions together. During the June Thursday Breakfast, we’ll discuss how to explore the local environment in a way that simultaneously helps us better understand it, build relationships, and drive change. The meeting is part of the Culture of Change program, through which we collectively seek tools and practices that support those working in the cultural sector in acting in a more conscious, mindful, and responsive manner to real needs. Our guest will be Maja Dobiasz-Krysiak—a researcher, trainer, and cultural animator with many years of experience. She is the author of “The Animation and Research Questionnaire.” In her daily work, she combines research with cultural animation, demonstrating that exploring the world can begin with conversation, curiosity, and mindfulness of what is happening around us. During the meeting, we will also examine the Animation and Research Questionnaire—a tool that helps ask important questions about people, places, needs, problems, and opportunities for change. We’ll talk about how simple actions can help us better understand our community and its needs, how to turn questions into concrete actions, and how to use methods such as conversations, mini-interviews, research walks, observations, and relationship mapping. We’ll show that diagnosis doesn’t have to be difficult or complicated, and that anyone can be part of this process. This meeting is for everyone who wants to act more consciously, better understand their surroundings, and is looking for simple ways to work with the community.
