The Dance Theater Group was established at WOAK on the initiative of Marta Zawadzka, a dancer, choreographer, and dance instructor. Initially, it operated as the Dance Theater Workshop Group and presented its first choreographies under this name, for example, the performance “Ciasnota” (Cramped). For over ten years, the group operated independently as the Soma Dance Theater. Since the 2023-2024 season, it has once again been associated with WOAK. Over the past two decades, nearly one hundred people have been associated with the group. Some for longer, some for shorter periods. The only person from the original lineup who still dances and creates choreographies is Małgorzata Skusa.
